It’s Community Supported Agriculture my friend. Literally the best of a community based food system, and a seasonal culinary stroll through delicious. A CSA supports our farm directly and is a commitment of trust by our customers who pride themselves in eating locally and seasonally all year long. It is a direct relationship with us that comes as a share each week of what is popping off on our farm - a window into how our farm's production changes during the season, and a commitment to supporting our small, sustainable food production. It gives our farm the capital up front during a lean time of year - your food dollars spent directly with us before the season begins - which in turn guarantees that the customer (thats you!) gets the freshest thing grown at our farm at any point during the season.
This year it is a Full Farm CSA - your share includes eggs in the spring and eggs and chickens in the fall. It’s a commitment to be an adventurous eater (with our gentle guidance of course).
Nuts and Bolts…
The CSA is only available for pick up on farm or at the farmers market on Saturdays.
The Vegetable portion of the Share is a value of 17$/week: That means that you will get 5-7 items each week commensurate with their value. usually there is one item from the microgreen house in each week, and the remainder of the share is a mixture of seasonal field crops. Eggs are priced at 6$/week in the Spring and 7$/week in the Fall. Chickens are priced at 6.00$/pound, with an average of 4 lb birds in your share.
Spring CSA is 8 weeks (5/3-6/21) and will span the season from the first slender french breakfast radish and overwintered spinach to the full swing of beets, head lettuce and the first summer squash. the share also includes a dozen eggs each week.
Fall CSA is 12 weeks (8/23-11/8) and will span the season from the first slender fillet beans, boxes of cherry tomatoes and plump okra, and the sweet lettuces, greens and roots of late fall. The share also includes 1 dozen eggs for weeks 1 - 10 and 4 whole chickens on weeks 3, 6, 9, and 12.
